Less Salt Could Cut Risk Of Heart Attack

Reducing the salt in your diet has been shown to prevent high blood pressure, but a new study shows that it may also prevent heart attack and strokes.

Last week, the British Medical Journal published the findings of a 10-year study by a research team from Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

The study of more than 3000 trial participants, chosen because they had shown signs of developing high blood pressure, found that those who took less salt cut their risk of heart attack by 25% and were 20% less likely to die from heart problems.
